Join Us on June 14th for the Brooklyn Linchpin Meetup

Linchpin Meetup

Seth Godin is bringing awesome people together in over 500 cities around the world for a Linchpin worldwide Meetup.

It’s all happening in one day on June 14th and anyone that reads Seth’s Blog, his books, or wants to make an impact on the universe is invited to host or attend a Linchpin Meetup.

I’ve decided to raise a flag in Brooklyn and am hosting a Meetup at our offices in Williamsburg!

Come find and connect with other members of Seth’s tribe, talk about his ideas, challenge and inspire each other, and help put Brooklyn on the Linchpin worldwide map!

Tonight at Hyperallergic HQ, William Powhida will be teaching us how to survive the Art World using the “Art of Sorcery”.
We could only let in a few lucky souls, but if you are near a computer, you can watch the live video stream and participate in the discussion at Hot Potato.

“Reddest Apples” by Tree Roots (via TreeRootsBand)

I’ve seen this guy singing in the 14th st & 8th ave Subway Station a few different times this summer on my home from work and I always stop in my tracks to notice how great he sounds.

The last time I saw him playing on my way home, I picked up a CD from him. He was selling CDs with a “Pay what you think it’s worth sign”.

I threw in $5 and grabbed one. It took me a while to get around to listening to it, but I’m glad i finally did. I love it! (as you can tell from my last.fm stats!)

The album I bought is called “Say When” and I name of the band on it was “Tree Roots in the Basement”.  It took me a while to find anything about them online as I guess they’ve shortened their name to “Tree Roots” and the label that put out the record seems defunct. It’s still hard to figure out what music they’ve released or what their are working on.

They just created a Facebook Page but it’s pretty empty right now (I refuse to visit myspam, err I mean myspace pages).
