I just became part of the Twitter Retweet beta (as shown here). It appears that “RT” will be replaced by a trusty Retweet icon. It doesn’t appear users will be able to annotate the message before Retweeting it if you click the Retweet button directly (but that doesn’t mean it won’t be added to the mix at some point).
It also appears you can turn Retweets on/off per user.

Looking forward to seeing this in action.
While they are at it, they should have an option to move the links out to an icon too - it’s not like that bit.ly link tells us anything.
